Disabilities

In 2017 in the sphere of Disabilities, the foundation reviewed grant requests submitted by organizations that run service programs for children, youth, and young adults (ages 0-21) with cognitive / sensory / motor / psychological disabilities, in one of the following verticals:

  • Paramedical treatment
  • Rehabilitation therapeutic program
  • Rehabilitation and therapeutic equipment
  • Programs for acquiring skills towards an independent life (living alone, employment, education, and more)
  • Programs that advance a healthy lifestyle
  • Programs that promote accessibility and rights
  • Programs that promote culture and leisure

In 2017, The Ted Arison Family Foundation supported the following projects:

Krembo Wings. Supporting the organization’s operations in three of its Arab sector branches in Arara, Shfar’am (Shefa-‘Amr), and Yarka, at a sum of $50,000.

Misholim – Supporting a wide community of people with special needs using animal-based therapies. Project: Supporting the organization’s operations in two of its therapeutic centers, at a sum of $50,647.

Beit Micha – Society for the Education of Deaf Children in Haifa and Northern Israel. Project: Supporting a hearing rehabilitation program for infants, at a sum of $50,000.

Shma. Project: Supporting the program Creating A Future that trains for a career in high-tech, at a sum of $50,000.

Israel Chamber Orchestra. Project: Supporting the program Touching Sounds that accessibilizes shows for hearing impaired children and youth, at a sum of $50,000.

Central Library for Blind and Reading Impaired People. Project: Re-recording of 94 classic books for children and youth, at a sum of $50,000.

Shutaf – Promoting and integrating children with special needs in the community. Project: Supporting the program for young leaders and training for youth with special needs, at a sum of $30,000.

Beit Micha – Society for the education of deaf children in Haifa and Northern Israel. Project: Supporting the rehabilitation program for hearing impaired children, at a sum of $37,500.

The Miriam Moses Association for the Blind in Herzlia and HaSharon. Project: Supporting the funding and subsidizing of psycho-didactic tests for visually impaired children, at a sum of $31,200.

Kivunim. Project: Supporting the operation of a training apartment in central Israel for young adults with hearing or visual impairment, at a sum of $50,000.

Ilan – Israel Foundation for Handicapped Children. Project: Supporting hydrotherapy treatments and therapeutic riding for children from On kindergarten and Venezuela School in Tel Aviv, at a sum of $50,000.

Effie – Asperger Israel. Project: Supporting the Connections program that trains towards the IDF service, at a sum of $43,500.

Variety Jerusalem. Project: Supporting the autism support unit, at a sum of $50,000.

Milman Center. Project: Supporting the funding and subsiding of early diagnosis of autism for challenged populations, at a sum of $29,729.

Druz Youth Movement in Israel. Project: Supporting the integration of children and youth with disabilities in the movement, at a sum of $50,000.

Tzohar Letohar (Tzohat Halev). Project: Supporting the program for implementing assistive alternative communications for children with disabilities, at a sum of $47,620.
